  1. Xteq Systems X-Setup - System Check Failed

  4. PREFACE
  5.  
  6. First of all, we are sorry that you have problems with 
  7. Xteq X-Setup. X-Setup uses only system components that 
  8. are included in ANY Windows edition since Windows 98. 
  9.  
  10. However, since there are millions of possible 
  11. configurations, we have create this check so you can
  12. be sure that X-Setup works the way you expect it.
  13.  
  14. If we wouldn't perform this check on start-up, you 
  15. possible would see "strange" effects when using X-Setup.

  18. COMPONENTS
  19.  
  20. The easiest way to get all components for X-Setup is to 
  21. perform a full install of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 
  22. or upward. Microsoft Internet Explorer can be downloaded 
  23. for free from 
  24.    http://www.microsoft.com/ie/

  26. If you prefer to not have Internet Explorer installed, 
  27. this isn't a problem. All the components you need are also 
  28. available on a standalone bases so you can use X-Setup 
  29. without Internet Explorer.

  32. - Step 1.1 -

  34. The file "Riched20.dll" in your \system folder is missing. 
  35. It is included in any Windows Edition since Windows 98.
  36.  
  37. It is also included with many applications, for example with 
  38. the free "Microsoft Word 97 Viewer". You can download this 
  39. viewer from

  53. The HTML Help engine was not found. HTML Help is included 
  54. in any modern application for Windows 2000 but you can 
  55. also download it from

  65. The noted BPL file is missing. It is included with 
  66. SETUP.EXE of X-Setup, so simply reinstall X-Setup to 
  67. get this file again.

  69. If the error persists after a fresh install, delete 
  70. the folder where you installed X-Setup (e.g. 
  71. C:\Program Files\X-Setup) using Windows Explorer and 
  72. re-install again. In some very rare cases these files 
  73. are locked so SETUP.EXE can't overwrite the existing
  74. files with a new version.

  77. - Step 3.2 -

  79. The file MSScript.OCX is missing or not properly 
  80. registered.

  82. Go to the path where you have X-Setup installed, open 
  83. the "bin" folder and double-click the file "XQXSetupCompReg.exe" 
  84. (you should notice it directly - it has a black chip as 
  85. icon). When started, you should see some "Registration 
  86. success" messages.

  88. If this is of no help, the file maybe has been deleted.
  89. Start SETUP.EXE which should copy this file and 
  90. register it again.

  93. - Step 3.3 -
  94.  
  95. If this check failed, it means that the script 
  96. language "VBScript" is not installed on your system.

  98. Simply download the Microsoft Scripting Engine which
  99. included VBScript by default:
